I blog. About knitting, except I have no current project. Some in development stages, though.

Knitting Stuff

Got a couple of things I want to start. A scarf for a friend. A blanket for Project Linus. Mittens for me cuz my hands are always always cold and I just learned how to knit with double pointed needles. Next week (Tuesday I guess?)  I get to go to a weekly knitting workshop thing. Like in the Adult Ed part of our community college here. Since my silly knitting friend moved away, I have been a very lonely knitting girl, so maybe I will meet like-minded folks. I hope so. Been reading for awhile how Knitting Has Made a Resurgence Especially Among Cool Young Chicks... Have yet to actually SEE any of these people, other than my silly moved-away knitting friend and of course myself... Certainly witnessed their existence in reading knitting blogs, but... Well, at least I'll get to have help with things. And meeting people can be nice. Or not. But I hope for the best. We Shall See.

Not Knitting Stuff

Yes. So. I did have things I felt like writing, but in the course of trying to figure this whole thing out I forgot what they were. Seems like there was something about words. I do enjoy words. Playing with them especially. One of my favorite things is adding 'ness' to any adjective to make a noun. This is very entertaining. It is also very useful in that the resulting word has an entirely different meaning from the actual grammatically correct noun version of the the adjective... A meaning that once you grasp it cannot possibly be conveyed any other way than with the 'ness'. I had a professor that did the same thing, which was fun for me. He talked about things like 'Czechness' and 'Dvorakness'... Musicology-Professor-ness, that was. Anyways. My blog, you see, has Pinkness. It's not just pink. See? Pinkness  has much more weight. And it's funny. Weee. Who knows what I originally wanted to write about. Oh well.

This is a pummelo and the debris from eating a different pummelo. Yes, there are TWO DINNER PLATES worth of peel and membrane and other citrus guts. It took an hour for me to eat the thing. Truthfully, though, I do tend to make a big production out of eating citrus fruits. But still. I am obsessed with these things now.
